WELLINGTON CITY
Ohariu Valley
A friendly, 9 hole golf course set in a quiet scenic, country valley north west of Wellington.
The Ohariu Valley Golf Club started from humble beginnings in 1952, set in a country valley surrounded by birds and the neighbouring sheep.
The Ohariu Valley Golf Club started from humble beginnings in 1952 with the slow development of the course and facilities from that period to the present day.

The original clubhouse was upgraded in the early 1970’s, with the addition of bar and office facilities.

The course was originally treeless and suited those golfers who preferred to play in windswept open spaces, however the eventual growth of the many trees planted over the years has seen the course develop into a well maintained and pleasant 9 hole layout.

Located just 10 minutes’ drive from Johnsonville, Ohariu is somewhat of a hidden gem.  Reasonable green fees and good accessibility to tee times see Ohariu as an ideal venture into the beautiful Wellington countryside for both beginners and regulars.
